Following the path that WWII boats made from Manitowoc, Wisconsin to New Orleans, the USS Chicago Base has placed Memorials in Joliet and Morris IL. The city of Ottawa, the next major downriver town, has selected a location overlooking the path the boats took downriver during WWII and the USS Chicago Base will be building a memorial there. A public service announcement was done by WRWO and you can listen to it by scanning the barcode to the right with your portable devices (iPhone iPads etc).
